Expansion of the child tax credit, allowing qualifying families to offset, for the 2021 tax year, $3,000 per child up to age 17 and $3,600 per child under age 6 for 2021, up to a maximum of $8,000 in annual child care costs. This benefit will for the first time be in the form of monthly payments, and will lift 50% of children out of poverty.
